Posted March 21, 2019 05:03:31 Thais have always been known for their love of street art, but now that street art has been gaining popularity in Thailand, it’s becoming a lot more popular in other parts of the world.
A few weeks ago, Thai street artist “Tongkol,” who goes by the handle “Bukkalak” (the King of Thaksin), put up his “Zombie King” poster on the street in Bangkok.
The poster features the head of a zombie holding a sign that reads “Zombies are dead.”
The poster has received a lot of attention from passersby.
People have commented on it on Instagram, commenting how it makes them look like zombies, or even that they’re not even humans anymore.
Buklak told ABC News that he’s “happy” with the attention, adding that he plans to continue his artworks.
“If it goes well, I’ll take a little break and go back to work, but I will keep going until I die.”
Tonglak said he’s been doing street art for about five years, but is always up for a challenge.
“When I first started doing street work, I had no idea how many people would actually see it,” he said.
“I think that was the most fun part, and that’s what I love most about street art.
The artist told ABC that he likes to paint his posters on the walls of his houses and work on them for about 10 to 15 hours a day.
“It’s like painting an entire city in the style of a city, with the same kind of colors, or a whole city with different textures,” he told ABC.
“It’s really hard to create something like that, but the art that you create is a beautiful thing.”
Tongsak says that he doesn’t expect his art to last forever.
“I don’t want people to think I’m a zombie artist,” he added.
“But I’m trying to do something different from what’s out there.”
He added that he has never received any death threats.
“If there are some people who don’t like my work, they can just come and see it for themselves,” he explained.
